Gee Al: Say it ain’t so! You were my hero back in the 1960’s. It did my first amendment gene good to see your newspaper ” Screw” hanging from New York City newsstand display ropes blowing around like “Maggie’s drawers’ in the wind, shouting out defiance in the face of political, social, and religious do-gooders. All hail to the original ” PORNPUNDIT”. For those of you too young to remember Al actually reviewed and critiqued not only the porn flicks that were shown in the seedy and slippery ( Don’t ask) ” movie theaters” that lined 42nd street but he also reviewed what were euphorically termed ” clubs and massage parlors. It was with Al’s guidance that as a teenager I, along with a group of drunken friends had my courtesan ” cherry” popped. Being the egg head that I am I actually thumbed through the index of establishments checking both value and safety while being completely zonked on various liquid as well as rolled substances at the time. See now ( with Sir Rodney’s index and my guidance) and then knowledge and research were the key lol.

Although I still highly recommend that you visit Al blog spot I’m often times turned off by what appears to be a self centered streak as well as periods of downright senility. In Al’s last piece he throws darts at Bill Clnton for some reasons that are very clear, such as the removal of his paper ” screw” from military px’s to others not readily apparent. in regard to the removal of the paper I’m all for the first amendment but ‘ “tough titties” Al. I can choose to go to a porno site on the web anytime I so choose, or I can opt not to. So long as their are brave women fighting AND DIEING for our country and until such times as your paper recognized women as artistic ( See the pornsite ” Just Shoot Me” ) and not just ” pussy” keep the paper in porn stores where I can choose to frequent, publish it on the web.

In regard to your ” dislike” for Clinton I fail to see the humor in your obvious sarcastic zeal just to turn a phrase. Maybe you can get your friends in the Bush administration as well as his gang on right wing-nuts to see your point of view. Somehow I doubt it will happen.

In regard to your comment ” Today’s porn is like a hippo with diarrhea: smelly and without distinction but large in volume”. Don’t bite the hand that still feeds you ( and quite well it appears). I will admit it does not have the production value of a ” Behind The Green Door ( see, I’ve experienced both era’s) but at least we are spared the ludicrous acting, the huge piles of makeup, the excruciating puns, but most of all the constant repetition. As I suggested earlier go visit any ofthe following “Fire Girls” “Abby Winters” “Matts Models” Beautiful Agony’ ( ok ill admit I didn’t like it but I agree with Sir Rodney its oh so original) ” Girls Out West” ” Real Couples” and many more to see how we’ve progressed.

Please Al, stop trying to prove with every column that you are indeed a ” luddite”. Stop talking about your own self aggrandizement and what you accomplished in the past and turn your eyes toward the now and the future while continuing the great Witt and wordsmanship that your obviously still project.
