Sir Rodney Live, and in Person!
Last week I travelled over the river and through the woods to Sir Rodney’s New York headquarters, where I had the rare opportunity to sit down with the peripatetic founder and editor of this growing enterprise.
First, I gotta tell you, the guy is just hilarious. Truly, Sir Rodney is man of tremendous breeding, education, and distinction. He hobnobs with the likes of TV Producer Mark Burnett (with whom he served in the military) and Bob Iger, the head of Disney. Sir Rodney is also opinionated, funny, and has a tremendous sybaritical appetitve with porn being his greatest passion. Truly, he has an encylopedic knowledged and is loved and respected by all, execpt maybe those webmasters whose sites he slams.
In an effort to clear up any misunderstandings and in order to make site browsing easier Sir Rodney concurred with my suggestion that we change the first rating category for “video/picture quality” to an “overall rating”, keeping Sir Rodney’s emphasis on video quantity, quality and overall value at the center of the ratings decision. Indeed, these are the qualities we will continue to focus on in our short, fun, and useful reviews.
Assigning an overall rating is never easy. What bothers some readers, such as no downloads (one of my pet peeves), might be fine for the guy on the road with the company computer. Some might care more about trial price than quantity. So you should never make a snap judgement based on ratings alone. A three “Can-Can”-rated site (that’s just above average) may be very much to your liking. Less than 10% of the 1,500 sites we’ve reviewed recieve the coveted five “Can Can” rating. The standards for top picks are even higher. Many of you have probably seen the Miss World competition. Some chick has to come in first, and some doll tenth, but I’m very sure you wouldn’t throw the eleventh beauty queen out of your bed. So it is with ratings on Sir Rodney: they are meant as a down and dirty way of separating the cream from the milk, but milk is can be very tasty indeed! So let me stress how important I think it is for you to read the entire review.
By the way, both Sir Rodney and myself enjoy very much hearing from you. The message boards have absolutely exploded with posts this fall, which greatly enhances the timeliness and usefulness of eviews. We are also really enjoy getting your dirty stories and fantasies, which are posted on this blog.
