East Coast vs West Coast… NY vs California… David vs Goliath

Although New York is trying to make a name for itself in the adult industry, there is one major roadblock ahead and it’s called California. New York is filled with adult entertainers that unless they can afford a plane ticket out west, will never get a chance to appear in a big name production. There simply are not enough production companies with any validity behind them and the majority of the actors just, to be honest, are not as sexy nor do they have the attitude needed. Try telling a girl from NY to do a bondage scene after an orgy and you get a twist and shake of the head followed by three snaps and a “Oh no you didn’t just ask me that” comment.

The industry, as a whole, does not want to nor likes to work on the East coast. Take, for instance, last year’s Erotic Expo. It was an absolute disaster. Probably 90% of the booths did not have Internet connections, were not told they needed to buy electric until 2 weeks prior, did not have ample space needed and to top it all off the porn stars couldn’t wait to get back on a plane to go home. It was apparent from the get go. The event was on a Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. I’m 90% sure that if you can check the plane reservations you will see just that. Arrive on Thursday, depart on Saturday. I’m 90% sure that Wankus, the head honcho from KSex, had the pilot wait for him outside. That’s how bad it was!

If run correctly (and not as expensive) then it could be pulled off. There could have been a buzz. If advertised correctly, then maybe, just maybe, there could have been a steady crowd. New York is dying for porn. Not “peep show” porn but a regular influx of hot sexy performers hitting the circuits not making appearances for 2 days then going home.

Howard Stern sent his bunch of idiots to cover the event. Not only were they annoying but after the event did you really hear anything at all about it? It disappeared. A few adult websites gave updates and most out of respect said nice things but the ones in the industry knew that it was a bomb. Me, I don’t care. The truth is the truth.

The Erotic Expo was as close as New York has come to having porn in nearly a decade and they blew it. Look, I’m from NY and know that the women here do not compare on a sexuality level. There are millions of sexy women in NY… just not in porn. All you need to do is go to Craig’s List to see. There’s a thousand guys with a camera saying they are porn producers begging for woman to shoot a scene. It’s pretty funny… and pathetic at the same time. The girls that apply are 20-year-old hookers with marks and bruises. It’s good for some of the companies who have Photoshop and shoot in alleyways, but for the most part who the fuck wants to see Tawana and her hairy back?

Ask any girl in porn from California to name 3 New York producers or directors. They can’t do it. Shit, I can’t do it and I live here! I’m not sure what has to be done but New York is a hard on waiting to shoot its load and has blue balls the size of Jenna’s tits. The only way to start this is if a big company opens an NYC office and starts recruiting and actually pushes the actresses from the East Coast. So if you’re reading this and need someone to do auditions with the ladies……..
