How did you take over as head of Treaure Coast media? Can you back up a bit, tell us about what Treasure Coast is, what the company has done up till now, how you happened to take over.
I began Treasure Coast Media, Inc. for two reasons. One, because I wanted to seperate the Internet Division from the DVD and Sales Divisions, and two, I wanted all marketing and press for all companies and divisions, including Internet, Sales, DVD, Club, Personal Appearences, etcetera, to come from one place. To answer the second part of the question, I didn’t take it over. I am the founder.
What’s it like being CEO? What’s your typical day like? Very different than being a full time performer?
There are pros and cons to it I suppose. Things were much simpler when I was a full time performer. Performing now however is much more profitable of course. I worked a few hours a day as a full time performer. Now I work an average of 12 to 14 hours a day plus perform and maintain a heavier travel schedule. Still, there is a reward that is hard to explain, from owning everything you do instead of doing it for someone else. I think any entrepreneur probably knows that feeling.
How is TRCoast financed? Is it profitable? Who handles distribution of your titles?
I have financed everything I’ve done on my own. There were times when I wondered how the bills were going to be paid but it all worked out obviously. I had two different distributors, one for titles produced before the world record movie and one for titles produced from then on. Both companies went under right about the same time.
Don Goo was the first one to go under and who handled titles produce before the AGB. I will say that even tough they filed chapter 11, they made good with what they owed me and we are in the process of a couple joint venture agreements. It took a while but they did stand by their word even though they didn’t legally have to. I have a lot of respect for them.
Bob East, Phoenix Releasing, on the other hand is getting ready to know what a pissed off female CEO is like. Someone must have failed to explain to him that business women have to work so much harder to get respect, especially in this industry. We simply can’t afford to walk away from being lied to or stole from like everyone else.
Let’s talk about the fabled 100 man anal gang bang… first, whose idea was it? Yours? Yes, it was my idea. It started out with my asking someone on my staff what the world record, if any, was for anal sex. When they told me it was 50 in 14 hours I couldn’t believe it. That and the fact that I can’t count the self-proclaimed anal queens out there. Some of them deserve the tilte but I would say a very small percentage of the ones that call themselves anal queens deserve to call themselves that. I decided it was time to set the record straight.
It sounds like it was quite a lot of work, and took quite a bit of organization. Who was responsbile for that?
We all took part in the organization. I only had a few people at that time and we worked on nothing else 7 days a week for about 6 months before the event.
How did you prepare yourself for it?
I love anal sex anyway, but I did do some marathon anal sex stuff in private a few weeks out from the event. I’d have someone do me for like 15 minutes and work up to a hour. Sometimes I would use toys. When the day of the event came, I was nervous but at that point I think it was the menatl preperation that paid off. I was very determined. LOL
Do you think it was worth it? Are you proud of the movie that resulted?
I am very proud of the resulting movie. They did a great job organizing, shooting, and editing. AVN gave the movie 4 A’s which I though was pretty good for my first self produced movie. They wouldn’t nominate me for any anal category awards but I was still proud of the ratings.
Is what you expected, or intended?
I did expect to maybe get recognized in at least one of the anal categories but other than that yes, It was what I expected and intended. I set out to achieve a goal for myself and do something no other performer ever has. To do a gangbang, straight or anal, without any lube, double the record, double the time limit and to break the attendance record for a world record movie. I did achieve all of that.
We understand you are happily married with two kids and a normal suburban lifestyle. Tell us some more about that. Is it hard to balance work and family?
Of course it is. As with any business, the more successful you want that business to be, the more sacrifices and adjustments need to be made. At the same time, family should come first. It helps to have a suppotive family going into any career, and it helps when you can deliver results for them and share the rewards of your efforts and their sacrifices.
Do you work with your husband?
Although I’ve tried, I’ve never been able to get him in front of the
camera. LOL
Do you have an open marriage?
Open marriage is such a loose term. Could mean a lot of things. We have a marriage like anyone else. What we DON’T do is try to be each others parents. We were friends first and feel that is an important element in a marriage that needs to always be… friendship. We support each other in whatever either of us want do do and realize that things we may want to do may change in time. We both contribute equally in the marriage including parenting, fiancial, cleaning, cooking, etc. As far as open sex, obviously, but not as much as one would think. We’ve experimented a couple times off camera and will more than likely experiment more. I think stuff like that happens like once every year or two. LOL
