Sir Rodney Fends Off Onslaught of Imitators

grpffff

A journalist recently asked Sir Rodney if webmasters view review sites as the new TGPs. It’s a good question. The web is raining review sites, as noted in this blog post last year.

I can’t speak for the content producers, but it does seem that everyone and
their mom has their own “review site” now (though, honestly, some of them look more like glorified TGPs). We see a new review site come up just about every month, similar to the way TGPs multiplied in the late ’90s and early 2000s. This is due in no small part to the low barrier of entry in starting a review site and the superior conversion rates.

Shame on YouWe do believe that the better review sites like Sir Rodney, The Best Porn, Rabbit’s Reviews, and Adult Reviews.net, among others, have influenced webmasters. For example, a couple of years ago a number of programs started implementing the infamous DRM system, a technology that prevents users from viewing videos they’ve downloaded after they’ve cancelled their membership in that site. The review sites spoke out on behalf of their readers, saying “Shame on you” to the webmasters, and most of the sites have since discontinued this practice. Many webmasters have also taken cues from the review sites regarding such things as usability and picture quality.

The major networks’ sites all get re-reviewed on a consistent basis. This list includes Bang Bros, Nasty Dollars (MILF Hunter), Perfect Gonzo, Top Bucks, Brain Cash (Peter North), and a few others.

Lipstick on a PigSir Rodney tries to update info on his Top Picks semiannually. There has been some accusation that the bigger review sites just shill for these networks, but the reason these sites make money is that porn consumers like their stuff, and the review sites simply reflect this appeal. If a site is inferior, the most positive review won’t hold up over time. As they say, you can put lipstick on a pig, but it’s still a pig.

You know, review sites like SirRodneys are great filters that help surfers find what they are looking for, and prequalifies them for what webmasters have to offer.

Consistently the LiveCamNetwork affiliate program reveals to me that the best traffic comes from review sites like SirRodneys - as well as search engines like Booble…
